Parent Coaching

What is parent coaching?

Parent coaching is a shoulder-to-shoulder relationship with a parent where family ideals are identified and realized through a personalized coaching process.

What does a parent coach do?

A parent coach is a highly trained individual with a broad background of education and experiences who listens intently, asks key questions, provides information and offers specific suggestions to help you implement new attitudes and strategies in your life for yourself and your children.

What can I expect?

You can expect to receive practical resources and relevant facts to re-define "problems" along with ideas which will bring smooth "solutions."  You can expect to laugh more; be easier on yourself and your children.  You can expect positive synergy, creativity and deeper satisfaction.  You can expect positive change...even tranformation.

The process will enhance the parent's self-esteem and self-image and ultimately strengthen, deepen and grow the parent-child relationship.

Reasons for Parent Coaching

Supports parents whose children are experiencing behavioral, mental health, or substance abuse issues.

Helps parents navigate the school system and be an effective advocate for their children.

Addresses self-esteem issues, sibling rivalry, transitional ages, discipline challenges, and peer-related issues productively

Provides specific principles and research-based methods for controlling television and video game usage, thus minimizing media's influence on children.

Supports adoptive and foster parents; eases challenges for step-parents and those experiencing divorce; helps new parents with the changes a baby brings.

How does it work?

To accomodate busy parents, coaching sessions are approximately 45 minute telephone conversations weekly or bi-weekly at a time that is convenient for both the parent and the coach.

One parent may take advantage of parent coaching or both parents can be on the calls together.
